Rhododendron Festival Tour marks the spring season with fully bloomed Rhododendrons and out of 46 Rhododendron species in the country recorded so far, 29 species are found during this festival. The festival is held for three days at Lamperi Botanical Park which also has hiking trails, boating and camping activities. 6 Nights and 7 Days Rhododendron Festival Tour
Day 1: Arrival to Paro International Airport ( Altitude 2280 m )
Upon arrival you will be greeted by your guide and driver outside the airport with Tashi Khadar, traditional way of receiving our guest and then drive to Thimphu, capital of Bhutan.
Visit Iron bridge on the way and if time permits we will also visit Thimphu Tashichodzong, else visit next day.
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing (Altitude 2320 m )
Visit National memorial chorten, a monument to world peace built in memory of Third King, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
Buddha Dordenma, a gigantic statue overlooking Thimphu valley.
Institute for Zorig Chusum, where Bhutanese student learn 13 arts and craft of Bhutan for six years.
Takin Preserve at Motithang and Simply Bhutan museum which showcases local dances and also try archery.
Bhutan Postal Museum, to get your own personalised stamps.
Centenary Farmers Market, where farmers sell their local farm produce.
Visit Local Farmhouse for dinner and experience local life.
Day 3: Drive to Punakha ( Altitude 1242 m )
Today we will drive to Punakha, stop at Lamperi Botanical Garden and visit the Rhododendron Festival and spend sometime. Continue our drive to Punakha and halt.
Day 4: Punakha Sightseeing ( Altitude 1242 m )
Visit Punakha Dzong, the palace of bliss or great happiness is the most beautiful fort in the country and walk to visit Suspension bridge.
A short hike to the fertility temple and if time permits we will also hike to Khamsum Yully Monastery.
Day 5: Drive to Paro ( Altitude 2280 m )
We will drive to Paro and visit Ringpung Dzong, which is the administrative office as well as the monastic body of Paro district.
Ta Dzong, which served as a watch tower and now houses the National Museum.
Visit Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan.
Day 6: Paro Tiger’s Nest ( Altitude 3120 m )
Today we will trek to Paro Taktsang commonly known as Tiger’s Nest, one of the best trek in Paro, Bhutan.
Day 7: Depart Paro ( Altitude 2280 m )
Today we will drop you to the airport and bid our last farewell.
